Inspection officers raide on stores in hyderabad

RBM DESK Hyderabad: Consumer Affairs, Civil Food and Supplies, Legal Metrology and Drug Control officials on Friday registered three cases after the attacks and fined traders for selling at exorbitant prices.These searches were mainly done to verify prices and weight of goods. District Supplies Officer, Civil Supplies, A Ramesh said that the authorities had found that traders were taking advantage of the lockdown and selling items at a higher price than MRP.

Nineteen supermarkets, medical stores and kirana stores in Ameerpet, Saidabad, Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki and Malakpet areas of the city were inspected by the four teams. Three cases were registered against traders, said Ramesh. A fine of Rs 25,000 and oil worth Rs 19,000 were seized during the inspection.Officers said the inspection would be done to avoid misconduct during the outbreak.
